Find the Best Krav Maga Instructor Course pt 2

Continuing part 2 of our article on finding a good Krav Maga Instructor course, Coach Paul Grey looks at how you can find a good Krav Maga Instructor Course and avoid common pitfalls.

BIG TIP:

Avoid any Krav Maga Instructor Courses of less than 10 days

'It is an inescapable fact that course duration remains an accurate and consistant indicator of course quality and inevitably the standard of Instructors graduating the course'

Personal Training in Krav Maga

Personal Training in Krav Maga
presonal training weston super mare

As a professional Krav Maga coach I often get approached about personal training in Krav Maga or fitness.

The leisure industry has become highly cynical  about theses enquiries seeking to cash in quick due to the volume that start and stop in a short space of time.

Gym chains are well aware that over 80% of these new year members will have stopped training  within 12 weeks and a staggering 59% will have stopped by the end of January.

Is Krav Maga a Martial Art ?

New students at Krav Maga Bristol are often confused about the difference between Martial Arts and Krav Maga. Many have read that Krav Maga is not a martial art but don’t understand why it’s not or even why this is significant to their Krav Maga training.

Krav Maga is usually categorised with the martial arts for simplicity. Whether you are registering Krav Maga as an activity at a local sports centre, or explaining your regular disappearance 2 or 3 times a week to your family, a martial art is the easiest way to describe what you have been doing. Whilst there are superficial similarities with the martial arts, Krav Maga is not a martial art at all, in fact it’s a very different type of beast altogether.

Knife point robbery

Surviving Knife Point Robbery

Handcuffed man

People read thousands of newspaper headlines about crime and policing, but an experience like a knifepoint mugging allows you to truly see the system at work.
